Assistant Managing Clerk- Temporary/Contract
Overview
A prestigious international law firm is seeking an experienced Assistant Managing Clerk to support its litigation practice during a period of transition. This is an immediate need, and the firm is looking for a seasoned professional who can step in quickly and manage all aspects of docketing, court procedures, and case management.
The Assistant Managing Clerk will oversee critical litigation support functions while partnering with a Managing Clerk. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and can independently manage court-related processes with minimal ramp-up time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage court filings, docketing, and case tracking across active litigation matters.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
- Oversee internal docketing systems and monitor critical deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain firmwide litigation calendars and attorney reminders.
- Advise attorneys and legal staff on court procedures and filing protocols.
- Coordinate with courts, vendors, and process servers.
- Supervise and collaborate with the Assistant Managing Clerk to ensure seamless department operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Significant experience as an Asssistant Managing Clerk within a law firm or legal department.
- Deep knowledge of court filing procedures, docketing, and litigation support functions.
- Strong understanding of federal and state civil procedure rules.
- Experience advising attorneys on filing requirements and court practices.
- The ability to work independently and assume immediate responsibility for a busy litigation docket.
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule with approximately three days per week in the office.
- Availability to address urgent litigation-related matters outside standard business hours when necessary.
- High-volume, deadline-driven environment supporting active litigation matters.
Contract Details
