Litigation Paralegal
Our client, a growing plaintiff-side litigation practice, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role supports attorneys throughout all phases of personal injury litigation, from case inception through trial preparation.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Litigation Support
- Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and discovery documents for attorney review.
- Assist with written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Organize, review, and maintain case files, medical records, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare filings and supporting exhibits for submission in state and federal courts.
- Track litigation deadlines, court dates, and case milestones.
Personal Injury Case Support
- Obtain and organize accident reports, medical records, medical bills, insurance documentation, and other case-related materials.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, clients, and third-party vendors.
- Assist with case investigations and factual development.
Deposition, Mediation & Trial Preparation
- Prepare deposition, mediation, and trial notebooks.
- Organize exhibits, witness materials, and case summaries.
- Coordinate logistics for depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Provide trial support, including exhibit management and courtroom assistance as needed.
General Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate case calendars and document management systems.
- Conduct legal and factual research using online databases and resources.
- Assist with e-discovery, document review, and preparation of case summaries and reports.
Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting personal injury litigation matters required.
- Strong understanding of the litigation process, including discovery, deposition preparation, and trial support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience obtaining and reviewing medical records, billing records, and insurance documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and legal case management software.
- Paralegal certificate or formal legal studies training preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus but not required.
