Our Client, a mutual insurance company which focuses on auto, property, business, and life Insurance, is looking for a Property & Casualty Actuary for their Columbia, MO location.

Location: Columbia, MO (onsite)

Salary Range: $100-$150k (flexible/based on experience) + profit sharing + benefits

Job Profile Summary

Oversees actuarial aspects of the organization’s property/casualty ratemaking processes as assigned. Provides guidance and expertise throughout the organization on actuarial matters. Researches and implements new ratemaking, reserving, and other actuarial practices and procedures in support of organizational goals.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the accurate and timely completion of all needed work products using applicable generally accepted actuarial practices.
  • Accountable for investigating new actuarial methods and applying new methods as appropriate.
  • Accountable for maintaining and enhancing the ratemaking information system in support of organizational goals. Active in development and maintenance of statistical models and ongoing data analyses.
  • Assists in training new actuarial analysts and rate analysts, with potential for direct supervisory responsibility as well.
  • Performs other duties as needed in response to senior management initiatives.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet ongoing business needs.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Skills, Education, and Work Experience

  • Knowledge of generally accepted actuarial practices, as demonstrated by attainment of the designation of Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries, actively pursuing related continuing education.
  • Typically requires three years of experience as an actuarial analyst with strong performance, or equivalent experience outside the organization.
  • Experience in programming and the use of data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to explain technical information to a nontechnical audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
