Collections Manager
Collections Manager | LAW FIRM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Locations: Boston, MA or New York, NY
Hybrid: 3 days in office
Responsibilities:
- Lead the firm’s collections function to ensure timely and accurate client payments
- Supervise and mentor a team of collections and cash application professionals
- Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce outstanding receivables
- Proactively manage complex accounts and recommend payment plans or discounts
- Provide regular updates to leadership on collections performance
- Partner with FP&A for forecasting and financial planning
- Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce DSO
- Support audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in collections (Law Firm experience required), 2+ years in a management or supervisory role
- Proficiency in legal billing platforms (e.g., Aderant, Elite)
- Experience with client credit checks and financial risk assessment
