This position is ideal for a barred attorney with exceptional writing skills, strong judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑focused litigation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and applications for temporary restraining orders and injunctive relief.
  • Conduct in‑depth legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and appellate submissions.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, deposition strategy, and evidentiary analysis.
  • Support representation of professionals, students, faculty, and executives in sensitive administrative, disciplinary, and investigatory proceedings.
  • Participate in strategic client counseling on complex, high‑exposure matters.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy from inception through resolution.

Representative Matters

  • Defamation and high‑profile media litigation.
  • Title IX sexual misconduct and harassment proceedings involving students and faculty.
  • Civil rights and discrimination litigation against major institutions.
  • Emergency applications for TROs and injunctive relief.
  • Defense of professionals in licensing, tenure, and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Complex negligence and personal injury litigation.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of litigation experience at a law firm or comparable setting.
  • Admission to the New York Bar (required).
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with motion practice and discovery strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with precision and efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.
  • Interest in sophisticated, high‑stakes litigation with meaningful responsibility.
