Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate Attorney / Trial Attorney to join our client’s personal injury practice. This role is intentionally flexible and open to candidates ranging from recent law graduates and law clerks to attorneys with 20+ years of experience. Candidates with backgrounds in personal injury, civil litigation, or prosecution are strongly encouraged to apply.

Practice Focus

  • Personal injury litigation
  • Pre‑litigation case management
  • Litigation and trial preparation
  • Settlement negotiation and advocacy

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution
  • Handle pre‑litigation matters, including demand packages and negotiations
  • Participate in and lead litigation matters as experience permits
  • Communicate regularly and compassionately with clients
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff in a team‑driven environment
  • Uphold firm systems, standards, and culture across all aspects of work

Caseload Expectations

  • Target caseload: approximately 100-125 matters per month
  • The firm is willing to provide up to three months of training for the right candidate to ramp up successfully

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Juris Doctor and licensed (or eligible to be licensed) in Virginia
  • Litigation and/or pre‑litigation experience preferred
  • Open to candidates from prosecutor’s offices or trial‑focused practices
  • Strong work ethic, discipline, and attention to detail
  • Values teamwork, consistency, and client service
  • Comfortable in a growing firm environment with evolving opportunities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000 – $120,000, dependent on experience (DOE)
  • Attorney fee structure and incentive opportunities available, DOE

Work Schedule & Flexibility

  • First 90 days: In‑office in Richmond
  • After 90 days: Eligible for a hybrid schedule (1 day per week remote)
  • Flexibility available for the right candidate
