Position Overview

A well-established public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing tax practice. This individual will be responsible for managing tax engagements from start to finish, providing strategic tax planning services, mentoring staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax expertise, leadership abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on tax matters and broader financial considerations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professional service providers to support client objectives.
  • Prepare, review, and manage complex individual, corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct technical tax research and communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage client engagements, ensuring timely completion and exceptional service delivery.
  • Review and prepare responses to federal and state tax notices and inquiries.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise tax professionals while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience within public accounting or a related environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of taxation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
  • Experience with tax preparation and research software, accounting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and team assignments.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
