Salary Range: $225,000 – $300,000 total compensation

About the Role

The largest business management firm in the US is seeking a hybrid Tax Director to join its Westwood, Los Angeles office. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional ready to make a strategic impact, mentor a high-performing team, and help shape the future of the firm’s tax practice. You’ll be a key advisor to both internal stakeholders and clients, driving excellence in tax compliance, consulting, and planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and technical expertise
  • Review complex tax returns (corporate, partnership, individual, trust), including multi-state filings and projections
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to address tax-related business needs and deliver actionable guidance
  • Develop and implement solutions for complex tax issues across various client types
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or professional services
  • 5+ years of experience leading a tax practice
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international tax regulations and US GAAP
  • Proven ability to analyze complex tax issues and implement effective solutions
  • Advanced proficiency with tax software and technologies
  • CPA or JD/active law license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred)
