Intellectual Property Litigation Business Development Manager, Silicon Valley
Strategic & Client Development
- Conduct research, client mapping, and market analysis to identify opportunities.
- Support creation and execution of client plans and relationship initiatives.
- Provide insights to improve targeting and outreach.
Pitches & Proposals
- Lead development of pitches, proposals, and capabilities materials.
- Maintain deal lists, experience, and supporting credentials.
- Coordinate input across teams and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
Practice & Partner Positioning
- Support thought leadership, rankings, events, and external visibility efforts.
- Collaborate with Marketing/Comms on content and profile‑raising initiatives.
- Track industry trends and competitor activity.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with BD leadership, partners, and business services teams.
- Ensure alignment and consistency across BD initiatives.
- Act as main point of contact for BD projects.
Team Leadership
- Oversee workflow for coordinators and specialists.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and support for development.
- Model strong communication, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Performance & Operations
- Track BD activity and report on metrics and outcomes.
- Implement process improvements and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and data quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience delivering BD activities in a professional services environment.
- Strong BD technical skills (pitches, client planning, CRM, research, etc.).
- Prior experience supervising junior team members.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of client and market dynamics.
- Formal management responsibility for coordinators/specialists.
