Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Client Support

  • Manage family law case files from intake through resolution, including dissolution, custody, support, and domestic violence matters.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, gathering information, and supporting them through sensitive situations.
  • Conduct initial interviews, prepare questionnaires, and organize case chronology and supporting documentation.

Litigation Support

  • Draft, revise, and finalize pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and pre‑trial filings.
  • Coordinate service of process, filings with the court, and compliance with local rules and deadlines.
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness lists, and hearing binders.
  • Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation, including scheduling, calendaring, and coordinating witnesses.

Document Preparation & Legal Research

  • Draft settlement proposals, parenting plans, financial disclosures, asset/debt summaries, and case evaluations.
  • Conduct legal research related to statutes, case law, and procedural rules relevant to family law and litigation.
  • Review and analyze financial documents, custody evaluations, expert reports, medical records, discovery materials, and court orders.

Administrative & Practice Support

  • Maintain organized digital and physical case files aligned with internal procedures.
  • Monitor docket deadlines, hearings, mediation dates, and court schedules.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and third‑party agencies.
  • Assist with billing entries, time tracking, and client correspondence.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on family law paralegal experience, including litigation support.
  • Strong knowledge of family court procedures, filing rules, and litigation timelines.
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Proficiency in family law software, e‑filing platforms, and document management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret financial and legal documents.
  • Highly organized, detail‑focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
